Women\'s Services Nurse Educator

For the accomplished perinatal educator who wants visible influence beyond the classroom, this Women’s Services Nurse Educator opportunity offers the chance to shape clinical practice across the maternal-newborn continuum. The role is designed for a nurse who can translate evidence into bedside excellence, earn the trust of experienced clinicians, and create a learning environment where nurses at every career stage can advance.

The healthcare organization offers a collaborative practice setting where educators are recognized as essential clinical partners. Stable interdisciplinary relationships, accessible leadership, thoughtful onboarding, and meaningful clinician autonomy create the foundation for sustained impact. The successful candidate will join a culture that values professional accountability, practical problem-solving, and long-term nursing career growth rather than education as a stand-alone function.

Within Women’s Services, the educator will engage across Labor and Delivery, postpartum, mother-baby, obstetrics, perinatal services, and newborn care. Daily priorities will span staff education and development, perinatal nursing education, clinical competency training, new nurse onboarding and mentorship, and the advancement of evidence-based practice. Working closely with bedside nurses, physicians, and operational leaders, the Women’s Services Nurse Educator will influence workflow, maternal and newborn patient care, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration while retaining the autonomy to identify learning needs and implement responsive solutions.

Positioned within nursing leadership, this educator will receive support from executive and departmental leaders while maintaining high visibility with frontline teams. Key responsibilities include assessing competency gaps, coordinating orientation, strengthening preceptor effectiveness, supporting regulatory and policy education, and measuring whether educational initiatives improve practice. Relationships with nursing leaders, physicians, ancillary departments, and clinical specialists will be central to aligning development priorities with operational and organizational goals. For an experienced OB Clinical Nurse Educator, this is an opportunity to combine strategic influence with direct clinical credibility.
