The Charge Nurse will lead in a small, high efficiency Eye Surgery Center featuring 3 modern ORs and more than 400 cases each month. This Perioperative Charge Nurse partners with accomplished ophthalmic surgeons performing cataract, oculoplastic, cornea, glaucoma, and vitrectomy procedures that restore sight. As a working leader, the Nurse Supervisor rotates across Pre‑Op, the Operating Room, and PACU to model best practices, maintain patient flow, and solve problems in real time. Streamlined handoffs and standardized pathways keep the RN Supervisor focused on speed, safety, and service in an agile ASC setting.
Reporting to the ASC leadership and collaborating with the Medical Director and OR Manager, the RN Supervisor is backed by a friendly, diverse team of RNs, OR Techs, Medical Assistants, and administrative professionals committed to supportive teamwork. The Charge Nurse directs 10 RNs plus non‑RN staff, manages staffing productivity, publishes schedules at least four weeks in advance, and aligns resources to daily caseload while safeguarding equitable breaks and lunches. The Nurse Manager leads daily quality checks, assigns and follows up on RN quality audits, maintains peer review and survey‑readiness documentation, and ensures patient follow‑up calls and audits occur during natural downtime. This Nursing Supervisor remains a visible, on‑the‑floor leader who coaches performance, enforces policies for legal compliance and high standards, advances QI studies, tracks daily/weekly/monthly audits, and supports budgeting initiatives through vigilant expense monitoring.
