Oncology Unit RN Manager

The Oncology Unit RN Manager reports directly to the Director of Nursing, providing a strong leadership partnership and support structure. This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the oncology and hematology nursing team, including staffing, performance management, education, and professional development. The Oncology Unit RN Manager will also work closely with physicians, case management, support services, referral hospitals, and other internal departments to promote continuity of care.

The Oncology Unit RN Manager will oversee a 30-bed inpatient Oncology and Hematology unit caring for a diverse patient population throughout their cancer journey. The unit provides care for patients with oncology and hematology diagnoses, chemotherapy needs, and complex medical conditions, supported by a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team. This is a growing program with opportunities to develop advanced clinical expertise, support specialty certification, and strengthen oncology nursing practice.

The Oncology Unit RN Manager will provide clinical and operational leadership for the unit, supporting staff education, competency development, preceptor programs, quality improvement, and standards of care while maintaining clinical expertise and providing direct patient care when needed. This leader will oversee staffing and productivity, employee performance, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and the day-to-day delivery of safe, high-quality 24/7 patient care. The Oncology Unit RN Manager will also participate in budgeting, staffing plans, strategic planning, physician collaboration, patient concerns, and multidisciplinary initiatives that support excellent outcomes and patient experience.
