Within the Medical Surgical Oncology and Med Surg Oncology unit, the Oncology Registered Nurse will care for patients with complex cancer diagnoses, treatment-related needs, symptom-management concerns, and additional medical-surgical conditions. The expanding department offers valuable exposure to specialized oncology care, coordinated discharge planning, patient education, and evidence-based clinical practice, along with opportunities for CNL and Educator advancements for nurses interested in leadership, professional development, and teaching.
Reporting to an experienced nursing leader, the Oncology Registered Nurse will assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor clinical changes, educate patients and caregivers, coordinate transitions of care, and uphold rigorous quality and safety standards. Friendly nurses and a diverse team of physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, case managers, social workers, therapists, nursing assistants, and other healthcare professionals provide collaborative support while encouraging clinical autonomy, mutual respect, and excellent patient outcomes.
