The Director of the Cath Lab Cardiology will be responsible for the overall management and leadership in the delivery of comprehensive, high quality services provided in Invasive Cardiology Services including the operational oversight of the Cath Lab, Endoscopy, Vascular, and Cardiac Rehabilitation. The Cath Lab Cardiovascular Nursing Director will ensure that safe patient care is provided. The Cardiology Cath Lab Nurse Director will work with program development, service improvement and promotion, oversee the activities in the development of department staff.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer CNO, the Nurse Director of Cardiac Cath Lab will organize, direct, and supervise the functions of the Cardiovascular Service line ensuring policy and procedures are followed; safe staffing levels are maintained; supplies and equipment are at sufficient levels; and efficient patient throughput is managed. The Nurse Director of Cardiac Catheterization Lab will develop, implement, and manages the department policies, procedures and quality measures.

The Nurse Director of Cardiovascular Cath Lab will engage in ongoing quality and performance improvement, invest in lifelong learning for staff professional development and assure employees complete required annual competencies. The Nurse Director of Cardiac Catheterization Lab will maintain own professional growth and development in nursing leadership and required licensure.

The Nurse Director of Cath and EP Lab will also be responsible for the following activities: Staff development, evidence based clinical practice; personnel resource/productivity management; fiscal management; patient quality, safety and performance improvement; and regulatory compliance.

The ideal Cardiology Cath Lab Nurse Director will have previous management or supervisory experience with knowledge of cardiovascular and pulmonary anatomy, physiology and pathology and associated diagnostic techniques and medical interventions. The Cath Lab Cardiovascular Nursing Director will prepare annual budgets, develop spreadsheets, monitor and analyze financial information and implement operational changes to meet budget targets.
