In the Emergency Room—also known as the ED and Fast Track—this NP/PA - Emergency Department role covers a full spectrum of presentations from low-acuity to complex, with rapid triage, point-of-care testing, and specialty consult access; the hospital features 41 licensed beds and operates as a Critical Access Hospital, delivering the best of both worlds: agility and hands-on autonomy paired with high standards, modern equipment, and tight-knit collaboration that speeds decision-making and elevates patient experience across the Emergency Department.

Reporting to the ED Medical Director and the APP Lead, the Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant is supported by board-certified emergency physicians, friendly nurses, and a diverse healthcare professional team that includes pharmacy, respiratory therapy, imaging, lab, case management, and social work; as an Emergency Department Advanced Practice Provider (APP), core responsibilities include rapid assessment and stabilization, ordering and interpreting diagnostics, wound repair and I&D, splinting, sepsis and stroke pathway activation, chest pain evaluation, point-of-care ultrasound, and thorough documentation, all within evidence-based protocols that promote autonomy with strong physician and APP collaboration; this Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner or Emergency Department Physician Assistant also contributes to quality improvement, patient education, and precepting opportunities, with shift structures designed for balance, mentorship, and consistent support.
