Nursing staff across the Intensive Care Unit and Medical Surgical department look to the Medical Surgical ICU Unit Nurse Director for guidance, mentorship, and operational direction, while physicians and interdisciplinary leaders partner closely with this role to support exceptional patient care.

The Medical Surgical ICU Unit Nurse Director oversees a combined department consisting of a 4-bed Intensive Care Unit and a 15-bed Medical Surgical unit. This close-knit environment offers a highly collaborative atmosphere where leaders remain visible and engaged with staff. The Medical Surgical ICU Unit Nurse Director will work alongside experienced nurses, physicians, and support teams committed to delivering outstanding care in a community-focused setting.

The Medical Surgical ICU Unit Nurse Director is responsible for maintaining clinical quality, supporting competency development, mentoring nursing staff, and driving performance improvement initiatives throughout both departments. The Medical Surgical ICU Unit Nurse Director also provides leadership for staffing, budgeting, regulatory compliance, and daily operations. This is a hands-on leadership role where flexibility is important; at times the Medical Surgical ICU Unit Nurse Director may step in to support unit operations and serve as charge nurse when needed to ensure continuity of care.
