The Senior PA will rotate between two neighboring hospitals within a large, leading health system, with approximately 50 percent travel between locations. One hospital features more than 300 beds, while the second offers more than 400 beds and a broad continuum of acute care services. The Senior Physician Assistant may manage patients in the medical office, hospital, Emergency Department, urgent care, or perioperative setting based on departmental needs. This Advanced Practice Provider role may also include inpatient rounding, admissions, transfers, discharges, on-call coverage, First Assist responsibilities, specialty procedures, and evening or weekend hours.

The Senior Physician Assistant reports to a supervising physician and practices collaboratively with friendly nurses, experienced physicians, fellow Physician Assistants, and a diverse multidisciplinary healthcare team. The Senior PA examines patients, completes comprehensive histories and physicals, orders and interprets diagnostic testing, develops treatment plans, performs procedures, documents progress, provides patient education, and coordinates continuity of care. As a clinical and operational expert, the Lead Physician Assistant may assist in surgery, perform suturing and wound care, facilitate perioperative care, support quality improvement activities, and mentor less-experienced Physician Assistants. Qualified candidates must have at least 3 years of Physician Assistant experience within the past five years, extensive Emergency Department or Urgent Care experience.
