Within Labor & Delivery, the Assistant Nurse Manager Labor and Delivery will help lead high-acuity obstetric care in a fast-moving patient environment supported by 24-hour women’s services. The scope spans daily workflow, staffing coordination, patient throughput, clinical escalation, quality improvement, and consistent adherence to nursing standards. Working closely with obstetric physicians, nursing leaders, and frontline RNs, this leader will have visible operational ownership and the autonomy to address barriers in real time. The role is well suited to an L&D RN Manager who understands the pace of OB care and can balance immediate clinical demands with longer-term priorities.
Reporting through nursing leadership and supported by hospital executives, this leader will translate organizational goals into reliable unit-level performance. Core responsibilities include staff development and clinical operations, coaching and performance management, schedule and resource oversight, policy implementation, regulatory readiness, and review of patient care outcomes. Close partnerships with physicians, nursing supervisors, maternal-child health leaders, pharmacy, laboratory, respiratory therapy, and other ancillary departments will be central to the work.
