The Hematology Oncology Pharmacist will practice within a 275+ bed acute care hospital serving patients across inpatient, infusion center, and oncology physician practice settings. Two full-time day-shift Inpatient Oncology Pharmacist openings are available, with scheduled hours from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, plus alternating weekends and holidays. The Oncology Pharmacist will work with contemporary medication systems and established safety processes designed for complex chemotherapy and cancer treatment regimens. The Registered Oncology Pharmacist will report to the Director of Pharmacy Services and the Assistant Director of Pharmacy for Oncology and Investigational Drugs. Supported by friendly nurses and a diverse team of hematology-oncology physicians, infectious disease physicians, pharmacy professionals, and other healthcare specialists, the Inpatient Oncology Pharmacist will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care. Core responsibilities include reviewing medication orders and patient profiles, supporting chemotherapy safety, providing medication education, preparing or dispensing IV therapies, participating in infection control and performance improvement initiatives, and supervising Pharmacy Assistants. The Oncology Pharmacy Specialist will maintain regulatory compliance, apply sound clinical judgment, promote cost-conscious medication use, and collaborate directly with clinicians and patients.
