The Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Manager will oversee operations within a comprehensive 250+ acute care hospital system. This high-performing facility provides complex inpatient, outpatient, emergency, surgical, and diagnostic services supported by contemporary clinical resources. The laboratory serves as an essential diagnostic partner for physicians and multidisciplinary care teams across the health system. This day-shift leadership position follows a primarily Monday-Friday schedule with rotating weekend and holiday coverage.
Reporting to senior laboratory leadership and collaborating closely with the Medical Director, the Laboratory Operations Manager will receive strong administrative and clinical support while directing daily departmental performance. Responsibilities include supervising scientists, cytotechnologists, histotechnicians, pathology supervisors, and laboratory assistants while overseeing quality control, regulatory compliance, staff competencies, education, hiring, evaluations, budgets, payroll, vendor relations, and turnaround times. The Pathology Services Manager will partner with friendly nurses and a diverse team of physicians, technologists, clinical leaders, and healthcare professionals committed to safe, compassionate care. Qualified candidates will hold a bachelor’s degree, at least four years of relevant hospital experience, and an applicable New York State license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Cytotechnologist, Histotechnologist, or Pathologists’ Assistant, while ASCP certification is preferred.
