The Night Shift Charge RN – Labor & Delivery will provide leadership within a community-focused hospital offering a full continuum of services, including Emergency Care, Medical-Surgical, Surgical Services, Diagnostic Imaging, Rehabilitation, and Women’s Services. This role oversees operations within the OB and Labor & Delivery department and Med Surg while collaborating closely with ancillary departments to ensure seamless coordination of care during overnight hours. In this intimate setting, the L&D Nursing Supervisor builds meaningful connections with patients and families while supporting safe deliveries and positive birth experiences.

Reporting to Nursing Leadership, the Labor & Delivery Charge RN Nights serves as the primary clinical authority during 12-hour night shifts. Responsibilities include staff supervision, patient flow coordination, triage oversight, assisting with labor management and deliveries, medication administration, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and safety standards. The Charge RN collaborates with obstetricians, midwives, pediatric providers, anesthesia teams, and interdisciplinary staff to promote optimal maternal-newborn outcomes. This role balances direct bedside care with leadership duties, fostering teamwork, mentorship, and clinical excellence throughout each shift.
