Reporting to the Chief Quality Officer within the Quality Division, the Nurse Manager, Quality Improvement provides strategic and operational leadership to clinical performance improvement nurses, specialists, and project managers. This role oversees performance improvement RNs and quality analysts while partnering closely with Nursing leadership, Chiefs of Service, case management, infection prevention, and Clinical Quality Analytics teams. The Nurse Manager, Quality Improvement leads the Clinical Performance Improvement Department, guiding cross-functional initiatives that support service lines throughout the organization through evidence-based practices, standardized processes, and measurable improvement strategies. The Nurse Manager, Quality Improvement is responsible for directing daily operations, establishing improvement priorities, leading mortality review processes, and overseeing initiatives focused on high-volume, high-risk, complex, and high-opportunity areas. The role promotes care standardization through protocols and order sets, develops team members, and collaborates with physicians and clinical stakeholders to improve outcomes. Serving as the enterprise resource for CMS and The Joint Commission (TJC) Core Measures abstraction, extraction, and submission, this leader ensures accuracy of specifications, data integrity, timely reporting, audit preparedness, and readiness for regulatory surveys and pay-for-performance initiatives. The position plays a vital role in supporting compliance, accreditation, public reporting, and reimbursement goals while partnering with Clinical Quality Analytics. Additional responsibilities include managing resources, budgets, timelines, policies, and relationships that support sustainable improvement.
