Collaborative support and scope The Hospital Occupational Therapist will report to the Rehabilitation Services Manager and collaborate daily with friendly nurses, Nurse Managers, hospitalists, case managers, Physical Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Respiratory Therapists, and social workers to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care. The Hospital Occupational Therapist will complete comprehensive evaluations, craft evidence-based treatment plans, advance early mobility in ICU and medical-surgical units, guide ADL/IADL retraining, address cognitive-perceptual needs, provide splinting and adaptive equipment recommendations, champion safe patient handling, educate caregivers, and drive discharge planning across acute care and transitional/swing-bed services—while also contributing to precepting, interprofessional committees, and quality initiatives.
