In this Ambulatory Emergency and Outpatient ED environment, the Nurse Director Ambulatory Emergency Department will guide a newly opened ambulatory emergency department with 18 beds that treats roughly 50 patients per day during off-season and 80 patients per day during peak season, and within these Outpatient Care Services the Director is supported by 52 FTEs including a Manager and 4 Supervisors while a Nurse Educator is on site as well to advance competencies and onboarding; this leadership post will also help launch and eventually oversee a new center nearby, all within a highly reputable system that promotes professionalism and clinical innovation.
Reporting to a senior nursing executive for emergency and ambulatory services, the Nurse Director Outpatient Emergency will have comprehensive responsibility for operational excellence, throughput, staffing and scheduling, budget stewardship, regulatory readiness, patient experience, infection prevention, and quality metrics, and this Nursing Director Outpatient ED will be backed by a capable Manager, four engaged Supervisors, a dedicated Nurse Educator, and an enthusiastic, friendly nursing team that reflects a diverse, interdisciplinary workforce—physicians, APPs, pharmacy, case management, social work, and ancillary partners—working in tight collaboration to deliver seamless, high-acuity care in an efficient, patient-centered setting.
