Lead a high-impact Progressive Care program as the Director of Step-Down Services at a respected 400-bed Level II Trauma Center in Southern California, where you will shape strategy, elevate clinical performance, and drive measurable improvements in patient outcomes across a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This leadership opportunity offers the chance to oversee a complex service line that integrates Step-Down, Intermediate Care, Telemetry, Cardiac Step-Down, and Transitional Care services, while partnering closely with executive leadership to advance quality, safety, throughput, and operational excellence across one of the region’s most essential community hospitals.

In this role, the Director will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer and collaborate with physician leaders, nursing executives, and interdisciplinary teams across Critical Care, Emergency Services, Cardiology, Hospitalist Medicine, Case Management, and Quality & Infection Prevention. Responsibilities include full 24/7 operational oversight, staffing strategy and workforce optimization, budget and resource management, regulatory and accreditation readiness, including Joint Commission standards, patient flow and capacity management, and leading initiatives to reduce hospital-acquired conditions and improve core measures. The Director will also play a key role in mentoring nurse managers, charge nurses, and clinical educators while fostering a culture of accountability, shared governance, professional development, and evidence-based practice.
