Embedded in an integrated perioperative ecosystem, the Director Surgical Services will lead the surgery platform that connects pre-admission testing, pre-op, operating rooms, PACU, SPD, endoscopy, and ambulatory surgery—seamlessly coordinating with medical-surgical and telemetry teams to elevate flow, outcomes, and patient experience across the care continuum. Reporting to a senior nursing executive such as the Chief Nursing Officer and partnering closely with the Chief of Surgery and anesthesia leadership, the Director Surgical Services is supported by perioperative nurse managers, service line leaders, clinical educators, business/data analysts, and SPD leadership to drive strategy, budgeting, block scheduling, surgeon relations, accreditation readiness, and measurable quality improvement. The Director Surgical Services will guide friendly nurses and a diverse healthcare professional team—circulators and scrub techs, CRNAs, anesthesia techs, perioperative RNs, sterile processing experts, case managers, and allied health colleagues—fostering collaboration, Just Culture, on-time starts, efficient turnovers, enhanced infection prevention, and continuous process improvement aligned with AORN, ASPAN, AAMI, CMS, and Joint Commission standards.
