Within a boutique ambulatory surgery center focused on vascular procedures, the Clinical Director of Nursing manages a streamlined footprint with one contemporary OR, a dedicated procedure room, and multiple pre/post bays. Four attending surgeons sustain roughly 30 cases weekly, with volume peaking late in the week. Work centers on vascular and image-guided therapies in a rapid-turnover, high-reliability environment. The
Director aligns staffing, schedules, and supply chains to keep pre-op, intra-op, and PACU flowing without friction.
Reporting to senior leadership, the Clinical Director of Nursing is backed by personable perioperative RNs plus a multidisciplinary team of technologists, anesthesia colleagues, and coordinators. This perioperative nursing leader champions accreditation readiness (AAAHC/CMS), infection prevention and sterile processing, medication management and moderate sedation standards, and EMR/scheduling efficiency. Ideal background includes OR and PACU depth, exposure to critical care or emergency settings, comfort with interventional radiology/angio/cath, and proven RN leadership. The RN Perioperative Director also steers policy creation, recruiting and coaching, inventory and equipment stewardship, and daily huddles that raise safety, throughput, and patient satisfaction within a reliable Monday–Friday cadence.
