The Coordinator Medical Staff Services plays a pivotal role in hospital and healthcare credentialing by managing the full lifecycle of medical staff credentialing and privileging, ensuring compliance with Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS, and state regulations. Daily responsibilities include performing primary source verification, maintaining accuracy of expirables and provider files in credentialing databases, assembling and distributing committee packets, recording minutes, and coordinating Credentials Committee and Medical Executive Committee workflows. Other responsibilities include managing initial appointment and reappointment processes, supporting provider onboarding and payer enrollment, preparing quality, audit, and survey readiness reports, updating bylaws, rules, and policies, safeguarding confidential information, and serving as a responsive liaison to physicians, advanced practice providers, department chiefs, Quality, HR, and Revenue Cycle. This medical staff services coordinator position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication and customer service skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
What's Needed to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school or university in related field
- Progressive experience in medical credentialing for medical staff within a hospital setting
- Prior working experience with MS Office, Outlook, Visio, Cactus.
- Proven leadership experience in similar setting
