The Interim Nursing Director of Critical Care Services reports to the Chief Nursing Officer and leads through ICU Nurse Managers, CCRN Clinical Supervisors, and a skilled team of RNs and Nursing Assistants. This consulting ICU leader partners closely with Intensivists, Hospitalists, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Case Management, Quality, and Infection Prevention, aligning critical care strategy with system-wide clinical operations.
Within this high-acuity unit, the Interim Nurse Director of Critical Care Services ICU oversees an approximately 20-bed ICU supported by 60–70 dedicated employees in a collaborative, professional culture. The Interim Director of ICU will steward complex medical, surgical, cardiac, and neuro cases, ensuring streamlined throughput, vigilant sepsis bundle adherence, ventilator best practices, and highly engaged bedside teams working with exceptional physicians and RTs.
Operationally and clinically, the Interim Director of Critical Care Services ICU will champion education, preceptor development, and competency validation while advancing quality metrics such as CLABSI, CAUTI, VAE, mortality, and LOS. The Interim Director Critical Care Services ICU will also direct budgeting, staffing models, and scheduling; strengthen physician relations; ensure survey readiness for TJC and regulatory compliance; and standardize 24/7 care delivery.
