Hospital Controller

Preferred background for the Controller includes previous controller experience within healthcare, spanning account reconciliations, payroll, and financial controls from an audit perspective.
The Healthcare Controller will support an integrated healthcare system anchored by a full-service hospital and a network of primary care and specialty clinics that deliver coordinated care across the continuum. The Controller will have visibility into inpatient, outpatient, surgical services, imaging, lab, and ambulatory operations, enabling accurate costing, margin analysis, and strategic forecasting. The Financial Controller will leverage a unified EHR, revenue cycle tools, and supply chain systems to optimize productivity and standardize KPIs across sites. The Finance Controller will help guide capital planning and service line development, aligning financial stewardship with operational excellence and patient experience. The Controller will thrive in a collaborative setting where clinical and administrative leaders partner closely on data-driven decisions.
Reporting to the CFO, the Controller oversees payroll, accounts payable, banking, daily cash monitoring, bank reconciliations, fixed assets, the general ledger, and the period-end close to produce timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements. The Financial Controller collaborates with department leaders to build the annual budget, analyze variances, manage capital project accounting, and prepare provider productivity reports that inform compensation models. The Healthcare Controller reviews contracts for compliance and financial risk, supports Medicare Cost Report development, and coordinates an efficient, audit-ready environment with external auditors. They responds to internal and external information requests with clear, actionable reports while strengthening internal controls and financial systems for scalability and resilience.
