Within the Laboratory, the Lab Director will guide a tightly integrated diagnostics lab that supports inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services with rapid turnaround, robust critical results communication, and continuous quality improvement; the laboratory team takes pride in Vermont’s scenic landscapes and a genuine community feel that translate into collaborative care, thoughtful service, and deep ties to patients and providers across the region.
The Director of Clinical Laboratory will report to senior hospital leadership with close collaboration alongside the pathology medical director, leading chemistry, hematology, microbiology, transfusion services, and point-of-care testing; as a Lab Director, responsibilities encompass regulatory readiness, accreditation standards, LIS optimization, staffing and scheduling, budget and capital planning, KPI-driven performance, and mentorship of supervisors and bench scientists.
