Within a small community hospital setting, the RN Cardiology provides personalized, high-acuity care in a cohesive, right-sized environment that encourages connection and continuity. Efficient workflows, modern cath and echo capabilities, and focused telemetry support precise assessments, prompt interventions, and comprehensive education. Advanced structural heart care is provided through alcohol septal ablation, atrial septal defect ASD closure, MitraClip, and patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure to reduce stroke risk. Purposeful rounding and standardized recovery protocols enable the RN—Cardiology to champion safety, experience, and outcomes throughout the cardiac continuum.
Reporting to the Charge Nurse Cardiology, the Cardiology RN works alongside friendly bedside RNs and a diverse team of therapists, pharmacists, imaging specialists, techs, and schedulers to coordinate seamless care. Primary responsibilities include EKG acquisition and interpretation, arrhythmia recognition, administration and titration of cardiac medications, pre-/post-procedural care, patient education, and precise EHR documentation aligned with quality standards. The Cardiology Nurse will serve as the liaison between staff, patients and providers.
