The Wound Care and Ostomy WOCN Nurse Practitioner NP will join one of the largest nonprofit healthcare provider between Seattle and Tacoma, serving over 600,000 residents. In addition to the hospital, the Medical Center operates a network of more than two dozen primary care, urgent care and specialty clinics with recognized medical specialties in joint replacement and orthopedics, neuroscience, stroke and spine, sleep medicine, and childbirth and neonatal care, and provides specialized heart and vascular, and cancer treatment.
The Wound Care and Ostomy WOCN Nurse Practitioner NP will provide direct clinical care and services to patients and their families. The work is performed with general independence and decision-making responsibility in accordance with national nursing specialty standards and guidelines within the Washington State scope of practice for ARNP.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing Development and Informatics, the Wound Care and Ostomy WOCN Nurse Practitioner NP will serve as consulting provider of wound, skin and ostomy care services. The Wound Care NP will participate in development of interdisciplinary/programmatic quality improvement plan by identifying areas for review, assisting with data collection, and establishment and implementation of corrective actions.
The Wound Care and Ostomy WOCN Nurse Practitioner NP will provide education to patients and families. The Wound Care and Ostomy WOCN Nurse Practitioner NP will provide leadership for development of evidence-based policy, procedure, and protocol related to clinical program specific to specialty. The Wound Care and Ostomy WOCN Nurse Practitioner NP will initiate and participate in research projects, performance improvement teams and other work groups as appropriate. Nationally certified as a wound, skin and ostomy nurse specialist with 2 years of acute care experience preferred
