The established Health Plan in the San Francisco Bay Area is preparing to interview for a VP Chief Operations Officer opening. The COO will lead administrative and strategic initiatives for this progressive health plan.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of this community Health Plan, the VP of Operations will serve on the executive council. This person will oversee an outstanding operational team of Directors and Managers who oversee Sales, Marketing, Benefits Administration, Financial Analysis & Revenue Cycle, and Membership Relations. The Health Plan Operations Officer will also get to work closely with Executive and Vice President-level leaders from the Hospital and Medical Group sides do develop progressive community action initiatives.
Serving the community as part of an integrated model of health care delivery, this Health Plan strives for affordability, diverse coverage options, and efficiency with all of its customers. This community-based organization offers products to large, small, and medium enterprise employer groups, as well as individuals and families regardless of whether or not they’re on the health insurance exchange. Other, innovative products that the Health Plan offers are a Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan and a Medicare Advantage HMO. The Health Plan VP Chief Officer of Operations will lead development and deployment of these benefits and deliver models.
The incoming COO will get to develop and lead transformation and growth in the organization. This person will be challenged to identify market opportunities in a city full of shifting demographics and populations. The Chief Operations Officer will oversee the end-to-end process capacity and capabilities of this fantastic team, from customer engagement and onboarding to physician experience. In service of this end, the COO will lead development and ongoing evaluation of key performance indicators, metrics, and root-cause analyses. Senior-level experience in Health Plan administration, operations, and leadership will be required for this position, as will in-depth experience with the Covered California Program.
