This busy hospital in the Sacramento Valley is actively searching for a strong Nurse Manager to fill a crucial leadership position in its Behavioral and Mental Health Department. Reporting to the Administrative Director of Nursing, you’ll take senior manager-level oversight of a busy unit in this fulfilling role. Working in collaboration with other Unit Managers the BHS Senior Manager will develop and lead multi-disciplinary education initiatives to address systemic challenges in behavioral health programming.
In this role, critical to the mission, value, and vision of the hospital and health system, the Behavioral Health Nurse Manager will take responsibility for administrative and clinical oversight of this service line. You’ll support the clinical development and education initiatives for the unit. A strong, thoughtful, and compassionate leader will serve as a mentor and teacher to Psychiatric-Mental Health Certified Nurses (PMH-BC), and support staff. To balance these duties with those of an administrator, you’ll be supported by a tenured and talented Nursing Supervisor.
You’ll take on a critical role in the BHS Department, fulfilling both clinical and administrative roles. Working in collaboration with attending physicians, social workers, and psychologists, you’ll help coordinate and evaluate treatment. The Assistant Director of Behavioral Health will also take a direct role in supporting the clinical growth of your staff, serving as a mentor and a constant beacon of inspiration.
Administratively, the BHS Assistant Nursing Director will oversee all aspects of program and unit operations, reporting key performance indicators to the Executive Director and hospital leadership. You’ll take on the hiring and staffing of other compassionate and knowledgeable nurses, you’ll develop and implement needed policy adjustments to stay current with state and federal regulations, and you’ll develop quality targets to continually improve the BHS program and the medical center.
