This person will join a facility known for high quality patient care, multiple centers of excellence, and as a regional leader in crucial service lines. Supported by an amazing and experienced staff of CNOR Nurse Managers, OR Nursing Supervisors, Scrub / Circulating RNs, and support staff across multiple inpatient and outpatient facilities, the Senior Perioperative Director will lead units that feels like a family. The Surgical Services Department boasts over 15 operating rooms, 3 of which are dedicated outpatient / day-surgery rooms, as well as 1 hybrid room and 3 procedure rooms. This department sees over 30,000 procedures annually, and typically sees cases around the clock.
Supporting post procedure care is an outstanding Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The CPAN and CAPA Certified Nurse Manager oversees a busy GI / Endo Department, Pre-Op holding and PostOperative Recovery. This 21-bed department is staffed by outstanding Nurse Supervisors, Recovery / PACU Staff RNs, GI/ENDO Procedure Specialists, and a generous support staff.
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Senior Director of Perioperative Nursing will work collaboratively with other hospital directors and administrators to set departmental strategy for financial and clinical performance. Strong experience in budgeting and staffing policy and procedure, as well as experience applying LEAN management techniques will help secure the financial future of these inpatient and outpatient Surgical Service Lines.
From a clinical standpoint, the Senior Director play a leading role in establishing and supporting developmental initiatives for the large Surgical Services staff. Working with the health care system’s Nurse Director of Education, as well as in-unit Perioperative Educators and Clinical Nurse Specialists you’ll develop educative initiatives and programs that will spark interest in the staff and maintain adherence to evidence-based practices. This clinical discipline is the backbone of superior patient outcomes, something this hospital is known for.
