Senior Nurse Director of Surgical Services

This Level I Trauma Center seeks a Senior Nurse Director of Surgical Services to oversee 20 ORs and 180 FTEs in its state of the art Surgical Services Pavilion. The inpatient Service Line performs over 20,000 surgeries annually in all specialties, including open-heart and neurosurgery.

It is important to recognize that this Senior Director of Surgical Services will join this 500-bed hospital at a pivotal time as it is in the midst of embarking on an ambitious expansion.

The Surgical Services Team provides Open-Heart Cardiac, Trauma, Transplant, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery with emphasis on arthroscopy, general orthopedic repairs, and a complete Total Joint Program supported by comprehensive physical therapy and rehabilitation plan of care. They also have expertise in General Surgery, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, Urology, Podiatry, and Endoscopy. Each member of the staff is dedicated to providing complete care and service excellence. The Senior Nurse Director of Surgical Services must have an immediate and positive impact on the department. They will be responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and maintaining patient care and administrative functions. The Senior Nurse Director will be over the entirety of Perioperative Services, including Inpatient, Ambulatory Surgery, PACU, and procedural areas including Endoscopy. 

They will work closely with the ACNO and CNO  to design appropriate care/practice models to assure the assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patient care, reviewing annually and revising as necessary.  This includes Participate in the overall planning process for hospital/nursing services.
