Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Senior Nurse Director Critical Care Services will be accountable for the Medical ICU, Surgical ICU and Intermediate Care units with direct oversight of the Clinical Directors, Nurse Educators, Registered Nurses, Technicians, and ancillary staff. Responsibilities of the Senior Nurse Director Critical Care include managing the department budget, ensuring regulatory compliance, updating policy procedures, preparing all accreditation and survey material, implementing quality performance improvement initiatives, assisting to create ongoing educational programs and training offered to current staff and new hires, and cross collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
The Senior Nurse Director Critical Care must hold an active RN license, prior management experience, and have a clinical background working in a critical care, ICU, IMCU, or step down unit at an acute care facility. Ideally the Senior Nurse Director Critical Cares Services should be master’s prepared and hold a CCRN certification.
