Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Nursing Director of Cardiac Cath (Catheterization) and Interventional Radiology (IR) will play a crucial role in leading clinical and administrative operations within this unit. Serving as a champion for great patient care, the Director will collaborate with leaders from Intensive Care, Surgical Services, and Medical Surgical to contribute to improving the continuum of care.
Supporting the IR / Cath Lab Director will be a CVRN Cath Lab Manager and two IR/Cath Lab Charge Nurses. Additionally, this person will oversee an exceptional team of 30+ Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and Electrophysiology RNs, Catheterization Lab Technologists, and additional support staff.
The Cardiac and Vascular Service line in this hospital offer a wide range of both interventional and preventative services to patients. With an outstanding interventional cardiology medical team and an experienced nursing team, the RN Director will lead operations in a department that is able to offer Cardiac Catheterization and Angioplasty services in 4 rooms daily, as well as Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation services, Echocardiography, Vascular Surgery, and a wide range of progressive preventative therapies in both inpatient and outpatient capacities.
The Cardiac Services Nurse Director will oversee a busy Cath Lab department, as well as the Interventional Radiology program. This person will take clinical and administrative oversight of an outstanding nursing and radiology team, spearheading an ambitious quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiative. The Director should:
- Have a wealth of CV Department Management experience in Acute Care settings
- Be able to serve as a mentor / leader to a large clinical team
- Understand the financial aspects of department management / leadership, as well as the levers that improve volume
- Know how to develop educational programs, for both staff and patients
- Work closely with Physician Leadership in a Dyad model
