Reporting to the Manager of the Respiratory Therapy, the Respiratory Therapy Services Supervisor will coordinate a fluid and cohesive work atmosphere in a department of skilled Respiratory Therapists and will act as a liaison between the Department Director and the clinical leads in the department. Primary responsibilities include providing direct care to patients with breathing-related conditions and conducting diagnostic testing. The Supervisor of Respiratory Therapy is also responsible for developing policies and procedures, staffing, training, and maintaining compliance standards.
The Respiratory Therapy Services Supervisor will be integral to the Pulmonary Department’s daily operations. The ideal Manager of Respiratory Therapy will possess the ability manage life support mechanical ventilation systems and artificial airways, conduct Echo and Stress tests, and monitor equipment related to cardiopulmonary therapy. Qualifications for the Respiratory Therapy Services Supervisor include the completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program as well as two to five years of Respiratory Therapy practice in the acute-care setting, with previous leadership experience as a huge plus.
