The Director will lead clinical and administrative operations for three busy Emergency Rooms around the area, all anchored by an award winning and well-known 300+ bed medical center in Eastern Texas. The Regional Emergency Director will join a health system that has earned local and national accolades for excellent stroke care, having and accredited chest pain center, and as a receiving center for wide array of trauma cases.
The Emergency Department Nursing Director will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the people of East Texas. You will directly oversee all of the administrative and clinical aspects of keeping the Emergency Rooms operating smoothly across multiple facilities and campuses. The primary Trauma ED sees over 50,000 visits annually, and collectively, the other campuses see even more. Seeing a wide array of patients, these smaller facilities and satellites act as a feeder system into the main hospital where necessary.
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Executive (CNE), the Regional Nursing Director of the Emergency Department will be responsible for leading a really fantastic team of nurses and support personnel. Directly supporting the Regional Director are 3 strong CEN Emergency Services Clinical Directors and 3 ED Nurse Supervisors. Add to this a team of 70+ ER Charge Nurses, Emergency Services RNs, and support staff, and this Director will serve a team that simply can’t be beat.
This role will be largely Administrative in nature, so progressive leadership and management experience in Acute Care Emergency Nursing will be one sign of a great contender. This person will develop and control budgets for each unit, and will enlist their reports to support those initiatives. The Director will also serve as a process and quality improvement agent for Emergency Services, implementing projects to reduce Door-to-Doc times, improve patient satisfaction scores, and make it a great place for the Nurses to work. On the other side of the coin, the Regional Emergency Department Nurse Director will also steer clinical operations across the facilities and units, serving as a subject matter expert and as a mentor / leader to the team.
