Quality Nurse Coordinator

A reputable community hospital in beautiful New York now seeks a Quality Nurse Coordinator to add to its reputable team of professionals in the Risk Management and Quality department.

The Nurse Coordinator in Quality Management will work with a medical center that provides comprehensive healthcare services that effectively meet the needs of the surrounding community through compassionate and responsible care for over 50 years. The Patient Safety and Risk Management Nurse Coordinator will be part of a team that embraces family atmosphere, positive attitude to excel and to provide the best patient care.

The RN Quality Coordinator will be responsible for the timely collection of medical records, abstracting Core Measure Data into the Data Base, concurrent review of inpatients with core measure diagnoses, appealing any low validation scores and designing action plans for improving scores.

The Patient Safety and Risk Management Nurse Coordinator will need to have experience in developing patient safety initiatives, high reliability concepts, root cause analysis, and safety even classification.  Reporting directly to the Director of Risk Management, the Patient Safety and Risk Management Nurse Coordinator will provide technical support to staff about Performance Improvement principles. The Patient Safety and Risk Management Nurse Coordinator is ideally a Certified Professional in Patient Safety CPPS and CPHQ.  Being versed in Quality, Risk Management and Infection Control are crucial to this role.  In addition, the Nurse Coordinator of Risk Management will continuously train staff while leading teams across multi-disciplinary units in compliance and risk management.
