This busy hospital in the Sacramento Valley is actively searching for a strong Emergency Program Manager to fill a crucial Psychology leadership position in its Behavioral and Mental Health Department. Working in collaboration with other Mental Health Professionals and Program leads, this Manager will develop and lead multi-disciplinary approaches to address systemic challenges in behavioral health programming and will serve in a limited clinician role.
Reporting to the Behavioral Health Executive Director, you’ll take Manager-level oversight of the Emergency and Crisis Response Team in an integrated Mental Health Program. Working in collaboration with other PhD and PsyD Psychologist Managers, this person will help build and support an expansive Program covering Inpatient Adult, Adolescent, and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) services.
In this role, critical to the mission, value, and vision of the hospital and health system, the Emergency Mental Health Psychologist Manager will take responsibility for administrative and clinical oversight of the Emergency and Crisis work team. You’ll support the clinical development and education initiatives for the unit. A strong, thoughtful, and compassionate leader will serve as a mentor and teacher to other Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinicians and support staff.
This Manager will also be expected to take on a limited client caseload. This means the right candidate is currently licensed to practice psychology in CA, and they have a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI). To understand and fulfill the clinical requirements of this role, at least 2 years of experience under a licensed Psychologist or a Board Certified Psychiatrist is expected.
Administratively, the Emergency Program Psychologist Manager will oversee all aspects of program and unit operations, reporting key performance indicators to the Executive Director and hospital leadership. You’ll take on the hiring and staffing of other compassionate and knowledgeable clinicians, you’ll develop and implement needed policy adjustments to stay current with state and federal regulations, and you’ll develop quality targets to continually improve Behavioral / Mental Health Programming.
