This Critical Access Hospital in Northern Nevada, the area known locally as Cowboy County, is looking for a Nevada Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner to lead the Respiratory Therapy Program. This hospital has served the community for over 50 years, and this position will play an important role in continuing those needed service offerings.
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Respiratory Care Program Manager will lead a small team of Respiratory Therapists in an inpatient environment. This person will also have the chance to support outpatient respiratory therapy programming through the community clinics and family practices associated with the hospital. This is the perfect growth opportunity for a Respiratory Care Practitioner who has 1-2 years of experience leading clinical operations, to take on a formal, titled role in hospital leadership. In this role as a ‘Working’ Manager, the Respiratory Care Practitioner will serve as the subject matter and practice expert for high-acuity pulmonary conditions. Working in concert with Nursing and Physician Leadership, the Respiratory Care Manager will treat both inpatient and ambulatory populations with conditions such as chest infections, pneumonia, emphysema, and asthma. This Manager will also serve as the resident Blood Gas Technologist, so licensure in this field will also be required.
Importantly, the Manager of Respiratory Care will serve as both a clinical and administrative resource for this Respiratory Therapy Department. This person will be on the front line of patient education and clinical care, and directly support nursing education in the process. The Manager will also have responsibility for owning regulatory compliance and survey readiness for this service line, as well as fiduciary oversight of its operations.
