The Pediatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS will participate as a practitioner within the hospital to provide diagnoses, treatment, and prevention strategy planning, as well as lead educational training seminars and in-services for the staff. The hospital does receive a large volume of psychiatric patients with varying levels of acuity, so the Pediatric Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS will have the opportunity to assess the needs of the hospital and develop educational programs accordingly.
The Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS will provide 24-hour expertise and leadership to the nursing staff in the Psychiatric unit for Pediatric population. The Pediatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist CNS promotes collaboration, service excellence, continuous quality improvement and evidence based practice staff education. It is the responsibility of the Professional Development Specialist to ensure the unit stays current on all policies, procedures and best practices and the Pediatric Psych CNS implements the latest research to update policies and procedures.
