The Pediatric ICU Nurse Education Director will work on a combined medical-surgical unit that is staffed by Board Certified Pediatric Intensive Care Specialists. The goal Is to coordinate the care of sick children with other medical and surgical specialists as well as the patient’s primary care physicians. The Pediatric ICU Nurse Education Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of continuing education and professional development initiatives for staff of the hospital’s PICU. They will work in collaboration with the Pediatric ICU Clinical Nursing Director and will report directly to the Chief Nursing Officer. They will be supported by multiple Nurse Managers and Nurse Educators. The Pediatric ICU Nurse Education Director will also be in charge of interview and hiring staff, continuously monitoring staff performance during orientation phases and the first year of hire, and ensuring successful staff advancements. The ideal candidate will have previous pediatric, critical care, and education experience.
