PACU Registered Nurse

A midsize, regionally recognized hospital in the greater Washington DC/Baltimore metropolitan area is looking for experienced PACU nurses to join their nursing team.

This 250+ bed hospital is financially stable and part of a larger, growing healthcare system that offers services and locations throughout Maryland. This acute care hospital is particularly well-regarded in Pediatrics, Oncology and Cardiology. They are in the process of expanding their clinical services, as well as building new locations to accommodate this growth.

The PACU Nurse will work in a busy Surgery Department that has both an inpatient area and on-site surgery center. Their major service lines are cardiac, general and ortho surgeries. They perform nearly 8k cases per year and, as mentioned above, are expecting this number to grow over the next several years.

The PACU Nurse will care for and monitor patients as they recover from the effects of anesthesia post-surgery. This could include monitoring heart rate, blood pressure, breathing and respiration, as well as managing the pain and nausea that often follow anesthesia. Making patients feel safe, comfortable and cared for is a top priority during this critical period after surgery.

This is a nurse friendly hospital that has created a collaborative, collegial environment where teaching and learning are valued. Evidence based practice, patient centered care and the opportunity to lead performance improvement projects are just a few of the reasons nurses love working for this institution.

Some benefits of choosing to join this nursing team include:

  • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits packages
  • Paid short-term and long-term disability coverage
  • RN relocation assistance
  • Free parking
  • Tuition and certification assistance

The hospital is located in a residential area in the suburbs of Maryland. It offers diverse dining and shopping options, and close proximity to museums, sporting events and more.
