The PACU Nurse Supervisor will join an advanced perioperative team that is experienced in managing elective, emergency, same-day, and inpatient surgical services. The PACU Nurse Supervisor will work within a 15+ OR department that provides post-surgical to a wide variety of surgical services including general, orthopedic, surgical oncology, urology, urogynecology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, vascular surgery, and much more. The PACU Nurse Supervisor will work within a professionally trained team of nurses, nurse educators, and support staff.
The Supervisor will take clinical leadership of a large perianesthesia unit, made up of 12 Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) beds, and over 20 Post Anesthesia Care (PACU) beds. This person is going to be on the front line of developing and delivering education to support staff and RNs throughout perianesthesia Services. The PACU Nurse Supervisor will get to work with hospital experts in program development, quality management, and in implementing performance improvement plans.
Under direction of the perianesthesia Nurse Manager, the PACU Nurse Supervisor will work to maintain the established standards of the department. The PACU Nurse Supervisor will assist the Nursing Manager in leading the nursing staff and will help create an environment that promotes evidence-based patient-centered care. Strong leadership and a clear understanding of inpatient nursing operations, as well as patient flow, will surely be the key to success in this role.
