Outpatient Physical Therapist PT

A great not for profit hospital in Southeastern California is looking for an experienced Physical Therapist to join their Outpatient team.

Named one of the top 100 hospitals in United States, this 350 bed facility provides state of the art diagnostic, treatment and Emergency Services in the Coachella Valley region.

The Physical Therapist will provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results. The PT will be determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.

The Physical Therapist will help patient accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities. The Physical Therapist will also administer physical therapy treatments by giving massages, applying physical agents, utilizing hydrotherapy tanks, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines.

The Physical Therapist will note and evaluate the patients progress, recommend modifications and educate patients on their therapeutic methods. The PT will have oversight of physical therapy treatments, prosthetic fit and orthotic devices. The PT will work in collaboration with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers on discharge planning and ensure patients continue to adhere to the prescribed therapeutic plans.

The PT will also be directing treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants. The PT will also serve as an advocate by recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs. The Physical Therapist will maintain proper charting, adhere to confidentiality and comply with federal, state and legal requirements of providing care.

The PT is also tasked to ensure the operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, follow the manufacturer's instructions and provide any troubleshooting malfunctions by calling for repairs. The PT will also conduct necessary in-service training programs for staff and maintain current technical knowledge of professional publications.
