This stable San Francisco community health system is actively interviewing Staff Nurses to join its Inpatient and Outpatient Oncology and Cancer Care Services Department You’ll work with a fantastic group of nurses and tenured leaders in a trusted member of the community.

This hospital, well-known for its dedication and long service to the communities of the Bay Area, has recently undergone an expansion to fulfill its missions. Recently opening a new patient tower to expand its inpatient offerings to include Oncology / Cancer Care services, this health system is poised for success. A few floors down, in its Ambulatory Services Department, the Oncology Staff Nurse will learn that infusion services have been offered here for years.

Reporting to the Manager of Oncology Services, the Cancer Care Staff Nurse will work alongside an experienced and tenured team of nurses, providers, and technicians that specialize in providing care for patients in all stages of cancer. You’ll work with OCN Certified Oncology Nurses and Biotherapy / Chemotherapy Certified Nurses (ONS), Hospitalist Oncology Providers, and Infusion / Outpatient specialists. 

A breadth of experience is desired for the Oncology Staff Nurse, as you’ll be working in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Offering a fantastic training, support, and mentorship program, the Cancer Care Services Leaders ask that you apply even if you’ve only worked on one side of this equation. There are multiple positions open, and each will offer medical specialty training beyond typical onboarding / orientation functions.

On the Inpatient Oncology Services side, the Cancer Care Nurse will provide ‘bedside’ patient care under the direction of the Oncology Manager and the indirect supervision of the Supervisor or Medical / Surgical Nursing. You’ll frequently care for post-surgical patients who are still undergoing various adjuvant therapies. You’ll get to work closely with other inpatient nurses to improve the patient care continuum and workflow for this growing service line. In the Ambulatory Services wing of this medical center, the Oncology Services RN will provide direct patient care in a busy 6 chair infusion clinic.

The Cancer / Oncology Services RN will play a direct role in supporting the organization’s growth a development plans by supporting outpatient operations.
