Occupational Therapist

A 250-bed non-profit medical center is a seeking an Inpatient Acute Care Occupational Therapist to join their organization.

The Occupational Therapist will report to the Director of Rehabilitation and will provide hands-on care to patients in acute care rehab outpatient clinic. Care includes evaluation, treatment and discharge planning. The Occupational Therapist will work collaboratively with supervisors, Physical Therapists and Speech Therapists to promote the core values of the hospital.

The Occupational Therapist will help to define departmental goals and promote positive relations between patients and employees. While, it is crucial that the therapists adopt the organization’s mission statement, the Occupational Therapist will work autonomously under little supervision for the majority of the time. 

The Acute Care Occupational Therapist will assist with emergency measures in the inpatient setting. The Acute Care Occupational Therapist administers treatment and instructions in the use of assistive devices, exercise programs and adaptive equipment. The Acute Care Occupational Therapist will observe, record and report the patient’s progress and reaction to treatment plan and complies with the departments
