The Obstetric Service Line Nurse Educator will join an advanced maternal health service line that consists of 4 private LDR rooms, 8 postpartum rooms, OR’s for Caesarean births, and a special care nursery. The Nurse Educator will work amongst experienced obstetric nurses, certified nurse midwives, pediatric nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pediatricians, and hospitalists. This service line is equipped to offer patient-centered prenatal care, health screenings, educational programs, labor and delivery services, as well as neonatal and postpartum care.
The Obstetric Service Line Nurse Educator is responsible for the continual staff education including developing unit competencies, ongoing education programs, and onboarding of new hires. This role is also responsible for the ongoing mentoring of service line staff and will work in collaboration with both quality and risk management departments to identify ongoing regulatory requirements. The Nurse Educator must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school of nursing, Master’s degree preferred. At least 3-5 years of progressive Obstetric Educator experience is required.
