This community health care system has a long history of serving the hard-working and hard-playing people of Eastern Wyoming. Serving a large area, this certified trauma center offers a full range of inpatient, outpatient, and post-acute services. The Perioperative Services Nursing Director will join an established team of caregivers and providers in one of the area’s best Cardiology programs. Nationally recognized for superior patient satisfaction and safety, this hospital system has strong connections with the community.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), the Perioperative Services Nursing Director will oversee an amazing team of specialists. Reporting to the Director is a CNOR Clinical OR Manager and a CPAN Post Anesthesia Care (PACU) Manager, who in turn oversee Perioperative and PeriAnesthesia Supervisors, RN Charge Nurses, and a dedicated support staff of Surgical Educators, RNFAs, Scrub and Circulating RNs, and an extensive Technologist Staff. 

The Surgical Unit has been well-run in the past. As a result, the incoming Nursing Director will find a department and service line that are efficient and effective. Known for outstanding patient satisfaction ratings, a team of surgeons who make the patients and staff feel at ease, and an outstanding team of RNs, the Perioperative Services Department has a great reputation. With 7 Operating Rooms and 2 Procedure rooms, this department runs a tight schedule and turnover time is constant metric for performance.

The Nursing Director over this busy, dynamic Perioperative Services department will have a crucial role to play in the successful operations of this respected medical center. Strong experience in developing budgetary and staffing policy, as well as the application of quality improvement techniques such as LEAN methodologies, will certainly help in keeping the units running smoothly. Further experience with Joint Commission, CMS, and DPH surveys and accreditation processes will surely be helpful.

From a clinical standpoint, the Perioperative Director will play a leading role in establishing and supporting developmental initiatives for the large Surgical Services staff. Working with the health care system’s Nurse Director of Education, as well as unit based Surgical Services RN Educators, you’ll develop initiatives and programs to spark interest in the staff and maintain adherence to evidence-based practices.
