This 200+ bed medical center in Southern California is actively searching for a Director to oversee Emergency Services in a busy ER. This Director will join an amazing hospital that offers the community a full range of services, including Oncology, Perioperative Services, Behavioral Health, and Cardiac Interventional procedures. This hospital, serving as a stabilizing facility for life-threatening events, works closely with the larger Trauma Facilities in the region to provide for its patients.
Offering experienced Emergency Physician and NP Providers, TNCC and CEN certified Registered Nurses, special Crisis Response, and Social Services teams, this 14-room Emergency Services Unit has been a trusted part of the community for over 50 years. The ER Nursing Director will oversee an outstanding unit with a culture of friendship, family-like support, shared accountability, and shared success.
Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer / VP of Patient Care Services, the Nursing Director of Emergency Services will oversee a progressive nursing unit. Supported by a CEN Emergency Department Manager, an Evening ED Supervisor, two unit coordinators, and two TNCC certified ED Charge Nurses, the Director will oversee an established operation based on collaboration and teamwork.
As a clinical leader, the ER Nursing Director will be the accountable for insuring that ED RNs, Triage and Admitting Registered Nurses, Certified Emergency Nurses (CENs), and support staff are all adhering to clinical protocols and following best practices. The Emergency Nursing Director will also play a leading role in developing, improving, and continually supporting the education initiatives of the ED. You will act as a coach and mentor to the nurses, drawing out the skills and talent in this fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
Strong administrative skills will also be needed for this role. The Emergency Department Director will take the leading position in developing and controlling the departmental budget as well as ensuring the financial performance for your unit. This Nurse Leader will work across disciplines with many other visionary and tenured thought leaders to constantly improve the quality of care received by this medical center’s patients.
