The Director will lead clinical and administrative operations for a busy Emergency Room and Critical Care unit at this satellite facility associated with a well-known 300+ bed medical center in Eastern Texas. Part of a health system that has earned local and national accolades for excellent stroke care, having and accredited chest pain center, and as a receiving center for wide array of trauma cases, this satellite facility is in many ways the first line of care for the community.
The Emergency Room Nursing Director will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the people of East Texas. You will directly oversee all of the administrative and clinical aspects of keeping this ER operating smoothly. Seeing thousands of monthly visitors, this 10-bed Emergency Department and 8-bed Critical Care unit requires a skilled leader and a strong manager.
Reporting to the Regional Executive Director of Emergency and Trauma, the ER Nursing Director will be responsible for leading a really fantastic team of nurses and support personnel. Directly supporting the ER Director are two strong Nurse Supervisors in the Emergency Services Department and the Critical Care Unit, as well as two Lead ED Registered Nurses who support a team of experienced and new nurses alike.
As a clinical leader, you will be the accountable for insuring that ED RNs, Triage and Admitting Registered Nurses, Certified Emergency Nurses (CENs), and support staff are all adhering to clinical protocols and following best practices. The Emergency and Critical Care Nursing Director will also play a leading role in developing, improving, and continually supporting the education initiatives of the ED. You will act as a coach and mentor to the nurses, drawing out the skills and talent in this fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
