Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, the Nursing Director Acute Pediatric Services will lead a fabulous team. Supporting the Director, is a CCRN-P Nurse Manager, as well as an CPN Asst. Nurse Manager who oversees the general pediatrics unit. Also staffing this department are Pediatric Critical Care Intensivists, PICU Nurse Practitioners and a team of highly trained pediatric RNs. This person will serve as a mentor to the staff, sponsoring training, skills development, and performance improvement.
The Acute Pediatric Services Nursing Director oversees both the Inpatient Pediatric and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. This busy department regularly runs above 84% census, and has a reputation for amazing, passionate care. This 14 bed Acute Pediatric Unit, and 8 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) treats children ranging in age from newborns to teens and is equipped to handle both low and high acuity childhood illnesses. This Nurse Leader will take on a busy Service Line, overseeing both clinical and administrative excellence. The Director of Acute Pediatrics will work closely with the Adult Medicine Director of Nursing, as well as the Women’s and Children’s Services Nurse Director, to improve patient flow dynamics and inpatient, acute care quality metrics
This Director Acute Pediatric Serviceswill be responsible for personnel management, budget planning and monitoring, scheduling, systems improvement, compliance with regulatory requirements and strategic planning. This position will provide collaborative leadership for the process of planning, integrating and coordinating activities to achieve departmental objectives and maintain high quality services.
The Acute Pediatric Services Nursing Director will serve as a mentor to the staff, sponsoring training, skills development, and performance improvement. As an administrator, the Director will oversee budget, staffing, and quality assurance initiatives. An ideal candidate for this role, will be able to develop and nurture positive professional relationships both internally and across operational boundaries.
