An Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner - CONTRACT is needed in Maryland. The CONTRACT Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner will work at a reputable hospital in the area to oversee their employee health services clinic.
The Interim Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner will be offered a 13-week minimum contract that may be extended. The hospital is seeking an individual who could start immediately and ideally would through the Spring of 2022 while the occupational and employee health’s permanent Nurse Practitioner was out on medical leave. With the hospital rapidly growing, there may be an option for the Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner - CONTRACT to convert into a permanent, full-time position should both parties agree.

Responsibilities of the Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner - CONTRACT include providing direct patient care to the health system’s new and current clinical and non-clinical employees. The Contract Nurse Practitioner Occupational Health will perform fitness for duty evaluations, health evaluations and treatment of employees for infectious diseases. The Interim Occupational Health Nurse Practitioner is a resource to employees seeking health care, contributes to the development and implementation of occupational health strategies, Workers Compensation cost control, and partners with the Employee Health team to enhance safety injury prevention and hazard elimination.
The Nurse Practitioner Occupational Health CONTRACT is able to interpret and evaluate historical data, laboratory reports, and screening tests to accurately determine the employee’s current health status, vaccine needs and other requirements. The Contract Nurse Practitioner Occupational Health provides initial assessments of employee incidents, performs property follow up a s needed, arranges necessary laboratory tests, refers injured workers to specialists, and ensures employees return to work in a safe manner after injury or illness. The Interim Employee Health Nurse Practitioner will also oversee day-to-day operations of the clinic, be supported by a team of 3 full-time registered nurses, and report to the Chief Human Resources Officer.

- Fully vaccinated and able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccine prior to starting

- Completion of accredited NP program (Acute, Adult, Family)
- Previous Nurse Practitioner experience working in an Employee Health, Occupational Health, Urgent Care or Emergency Department
- Active RN and CRNP license/certification in Maryland (may obtain temporary license prior to starting)
