An esteemed short-term acute care hospital in Texas urgently seeks a Nurse Navigator Oncology to join their award-winning Cancer Center nursing team.
This mid-sized medical center is regionally acclaimed for their high level of patient care and offers a wide selection of services, including Oncology, Neurology, Cardiovascular, Transplant, and Family Birth Center.
A newly-created position, the Nurse Navigator Oncology will report to the Cancer Center Director and Cancer Trials Program Manager. The Nurse Navigator Oncology will float between the Cancer Center and the hospital’s Inpatient Oncology floor.
The Nurse Navigator Oncology will follow a caseload of cancer patients across the continuum of care, from diagnosis through treatment and survivorship. As an essential component of the patient’s support system, the Nurse Navigator Oncology will be a main point of contact and provide guidance and information to the patient in a time of great uncertainty.
As a member of the Tumor Board, the Nurse Navigator Oncology will present new diagnoses and follow up with cancer patients in the registry. The Nurse Navigator Oncology will also manage the Cancer Center’s lung cancer screening program and collaborate with a network of primary care physicians for patient referrals.
