The UR Nurse Manager will join an urban medical center that has been recognized locally for outstanding community and inpatient services. Offering a full suite of services, including Emergency Care, Cardiopulmonary, Critical and Telemetry, as well as extensive Outpatient Services, this hospital is positioned to fulfill the immediate and acute needs of the community.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing, the Utilization Manager will take on a role balanced between patient care and operational optimization. Reporting to the manager is a small team of Utilization Review Specialists, Concurrent Reviewers, and Admissions personnel. The Manager of Utilization Review will discover an environment of collaboration and will have the opportunity to work with a wide array of internal and external leaders as they help negotiate complex care plans for patients.
With the support of hospital and Care Coordination leaders, the Nurse Manager of Utilization Review UR develop policies and procedures to actively manage:
- Oversight of the admissions and authorization process and concurrent review of complex patient cases.
- Developing and maintaining utilization reports and summaries, providing actionable report data to leaders upon request.
- Quality of service trends and possible issue identification
- Training program standardization across the continuum of care
- New health product / program development
- Organize onsite visits from regulatory agencies
